Achievements
Our efforts in persuading the Tamilnadu Government to declare Onam day as a public holiday have found partial solutions and they have declared the day as a holiday for all educational institutions in four Districts. During the tsunami disaster, the Government of Kerala had nominated CTMA as the coordination Organisation to extend support to affected families. Perhaps for the first time ever, the Kerala Government had distributed financial aid to some of the Malayalee victims. CTMA had played a dominant role then in rescue and rehabilitation.
When war-affected Indian citizens were evacuated from Lebanon, the Government of Kerala also sought the involvement of CTMA to help out those Malayalees who were brought to various Airports in India. Here too, CTMA rose to the occasion and warmly received all Malayalee evacuees.
